Khy'lieb Rodriguez caught four passes for 165 receiving yards and four touchdowns against Cuthbertson on Friday, Aug. 21, and the Ardrey Kell wide receiver did it all in the first half.

The performance announced what kind of senior season the NC State commit intends to have before he heads to Raleigh.

Rodriguez posted his stat line on X the following Monday.

@KhyliebRod: "4 touchdowns in 4 receptions with 165 receiving yards, only in 1 half. Season opener‼️"

A day earlier, on Sunday, Aug. 23, he wrote that he has "real 4.3 speed in live action" heading into his final year at Ardrey Kell.

Rodriguez, a Class of 2027 recruit who lists himself as a three-star prospect on his X profile, committed to play for the Wolfpack. Charlotte Observer sports columnist Langston Wertz Jr. hosted him on the paper's Talking Preps OT segment on Tuesday, Aug. 25, where Rodriguez discussed his goals for his final high school season. The Observer published the full video interview Wednesday, Aug. 26.

"NC State recruit Khy'lieb Rodriguez is on Talking Preps OT tonight at 8 p.m. live," Wertz wrote on X that Tuesday. "Come hear from the Ardrey Kell High star and future Wolfpack receiver."

Rodriguez will join a retooled NC State receiving corps. Wide receivers coach Joker Phillips overhauled the Wolfpack's receiver group heading into the 2026 season, and Sports Illustrated reported the program plans to play wide receiver by committee this fall under head coach Dave Doeren, who enters his 14th year leading the program.

At Ardrey Kell, Rodriguez is part of a deep athletic pipeline. The Knights' Class of 2025 produced 37 college athletic commitments across multiple sports, according to the school's athletic zone website. Athletic director Jeff Sprenger oversees a program that continues to send athletes to the next level.

Rodriguez's next game with the Knights has not been publicly posted, but if the opener was any indication, Wolfpack fans in Raleigh will be tracking his senior stat line closely.
