Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives are asking south Charlotte drivers for dashcam video from a three-vehicle crash that killed a 75-year-old woman on Pineville-Matthews Road.

The crash happened around 10:42 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the 2800 block of Pineville-Matthews Road, according to a CMPD news release. Linda Ross was driving a Hyundai Tucson and turning left across the road when a Nissan Pathfinder struck the vehicle's passenger side, CMPD said. After the two vehicles separated, the Nissan struck an Infiniti G37 that was waiting to cross Pineville-Matthews Road.

Ross was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead. Her next of kin has been notified, the department said.

The Nissan's driver, Mkwasi Prince, 18, and five passengers were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, according to the release. The Infiniti's driver, Jaylin Brown, 25, was not injured and stayed at the scene.

CMPD's Major Crash Investigation Unit, officers with the DWI Task Force and members of Crime Scene Search responded to investigate. The department said it is unknown whether speed or a medical condition contributed to the collision. WBTV reported that no charges have been filed.

The crash scene is near the intersection with Providence Road, according to WBTV. WSOC-TV reported the location is near The Arboretum shopping area.

The investigation remains active. CMPD is appealing for anyone who drove through the area and may have recorded footage to come forward. Queen City News reported on the department's public appeal on Friday, Oct. 16.

The CMPD press release lists the case reference number as 20261013-1042-05 for residents who want to follow up with the department.
