Erik Kyshka is recovering at home after an electrical shock sent him into cardiac arrest while he was installing holiday lights in south Charlotte, according to WSOC-TV.
The station reported Thursday, Nov. 5, that Kyshka had been discharged from the hospital. He and a friend were moving a ladder near overhead power lines when the accident occurred.
His friend and a neighboring doctor performed CPR before firefighters arrived and used a defibrillator to restart his heart, WSOC-TV reported.
Kyshka told the station he remains in pain as he recovers and plans to stop working on rooftops.
A family fundraiser organized by Ruslana Bosak identifies him as 20 years old. The page names his father, Vasyl Kyshka, as the beneficiary managing donations for medical care, rehabilitation and related expenses.
