Students from Ballantyne Ridge High School and Ardrey Kell High School joined hundreds of peers at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on Tuesday, Sept. 22, for a regional summit focused on careers in teaching.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools hosted the Southwest Region Aspiring Educator Summit, which drew high school students from across southwestern North Carolina, according to a post on the Ballantyne Ridge website.

The daylong event featured breakout sessions, panel discussions and opportunities to meet college representatives and learn about education programs.

Students also networked with superintendents and educators, CMS said in a post on X on the day of the event.
