Imperial Treasure in Ballantyne Village earned a 90 on its latest health inspection, returning to Grade A status after Mecklenburg County suspended the restaurant in August.

The score covers the Sept. 17–23 inspection cycle for the 28277 zip code, according to results published by the South Charlotte Weekly. Fifteen Ballantyne-area restaurants were inspected. All 15 earned a Grade A.

Imperial Treasure at 14815 Ballantyne Village Way had received an 88 and an immediate suspension on Aug. 31, dropping it to a Grade B. The Charlotte Observer reported that violations included foods held in the temperature danger zone, incorrectly stored meat, missing hand towels and employees without hair restraints. County inspection records showed the walk-in cooler was at 51°F, well above the 41°F safety threshold. The restaurant had also received B scores in 2025 and earlier in 2026, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Specific violation details for the Sept. 17–23 inspection were not publicly available as of Sept. 24.

In North Carolina, restaurants scoring 90 or above receive a Grade A. Scores between 80 and 89.5 earn a Grade B, and those between 70 and 79.5 earn a Grade C. A score below 70 triggers an immediate permit revocation.

McAlister's Deli at 15127 Ballancroft Parkway and the Harris Teeter produce department at 7852 Rea Road each scored 100, the top marks in the zip code.

Two Viva Chicken locations landed on opposite ends of the scale. The Copper Way location scored 98. The Waverly Center Drive location scored 91.5.
