Jillian King is running in the nonpartisan Mecklenburg Soil and Water Conservation District supervisor election on Nov. 3, 2026. The county election board lists King, Michael Betterly, Barbara Bleiweis, Makenzie Pearce and Long Tran in the contest.
Background
The Branch voter guide describes King as a community advocate with bachelor’s-level training in agricultural education and a master’s degree in Montessori education.
It lists teaching experience with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, substitute teaching in Wake County and preschool work at the Goddard School. The guide also records her unsuccessful 2025 campaign for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school board’s District 4 seat.
This profile distinguishes King’s earlier school board campaign from her current conservation board candidacy. It does not treat school-focused positions from that campaign as a current soil and water platform.
