Waverly will host Merry Mayhem, a family holiday celebration and food drive, on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to Waverly’s official event announcement.
The south Charlotte shopping and dining destination is at Providence and Ardrey Kell roads. Organizers list snow, festive crafts, face painting, balloon creations and a visit from a “mischievous holiday duo.” The announcement does not identify the duo by name.
Hot cocoa and sweet treats are offered to the first 500 attendees who register at the registration table. Activities, supplies and treats are available while supplies last, according to Waverly.
Bring food donations
The event will collect non-perishable food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Waverly’s announcement lists canned fish and meat, peanut butter, canned or dry beans, canned fruit packed in juice, and low-sodium soups, stews and vegetables among the most-needed items.
Families who want to contribute can bring those items to the celebration. The food drive is part of the Dec. 5 event rather than a separate collection date.
Visitors can check the event page for updates and the Waverly website for the center’s directory and location information.
