St. Stephen Maronite Catholic Church will bring Lebanese food, live music and cultural programming to Ballantyne Commons Parkway on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26 with its Festival of Lebanon.
The two-day festival takes place at St. Matthew Catholic Church's gym, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway. Admission is free.
The Sept. 25 session runs from 4 to 8 p.m. The Sept. 26 session opens at 11 a.m. and continues until 9:30 p.m., according to Charlotte on the Cheap.
Attendees can expect Lebanese cuisine, live Lebanese music and cultural displays. A dedicated Kids' Corner gives families a reason to bring younger children. The festival also features a cash lottery with a $2,000 grand prize.
St. Stephen Maronite Catholic Church, a Maronite Catholic mission based in the Charlotte area, presents the festival. The Maronite tradition is an Eastern Catholic church with roots in Lebanon. The church holds its regular Sunday liturgy at a location in Waxhaw but stages the festival at St. Matthew's Ballantyne campus, according to the Diocese of Charlotte.
The Charlotte Weekly listed the Festival of Lebanon among five cultural festivals to try in the Charlotte area this fall.
